The Athletic is seeking a North America-based soccer staff writer to work with some of the best sports writers in the world and a talented team of editors to produce compelling, insightful, ground-breaking journalism. This is a full-time position.
The right candidate will have experience reporting on the world of American soccer, especially within the world of Major League Soccer and the USMNT. A demonstrated ability to break news is preferred, but a willingness to collaborate with editors and writers across the company is a must. The right candidate should also be comfortable writing features and explainers that break down major events in American soccer for a broad audience. Proficiency in a language other than English is a plus. Some night and weekend work will be required.
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>

Title: Executive Assistant to the Chief Revenue Officer
Location: San Francisco, California
Although this position is available for remote employees, the ideal candidate will be able to travel to our west coast HQ and with the CRO as needed, travel is estimated to be no more than 25% of the time.
Mission
The Chief Revenue Officer is responsible for the growth and execution of sales programs at Databricks. His Executive Assistant (EA) plays a critical role on his team, enabling him to scale effectively as we continue to expand our customer base and international footprint. Led by the Vice President for Development, the Development team at ClimateWorks is responsible for leading strategic philanthropic partnerships and fundraising for the organization and supports efforts to generate funder interest in climate mitigation generally. The Development team works to build relationships with key funders in climate mitigation to support climate solutions and strategies and introduces new funders to opportunities in climate philanthropy. The team works closely with ClimateWorks Executive, Finance, Programs, and Marketing teams, the Climate Leadership Initiative, and regional climate foundations.
<h3>Job Summary</h3>
The Executive Assistant plays a key role on the Development team, leading schedule coordination, arranging travel and meeting logistics, preparing meeting materials, coordinating administrative activities, and communicating with other teams at ClimateWorks for the VP of Development and the department at large as needed.
The Executive Assistant represents the Development department both internally and externally and must have good judgment and significant initiative. Because the VP of Development often meets with important donors and funders of ClimateWorks, the Executive Assistant must be an independent and experienced assistant with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The Executive Assistant reports to the Vice President of Developments and coordinates with the Director of Development and Development Operations Manager to ensure the administrative needs of the Department are met.
<h3>Essential Tasks</h3>
The Executive Assistant will perform the following and other duties as assigned:

<li>Manage the VP of Development’s calendar and time, including complex scheduling with colleagues within ClimateWorks, high-level external partners, and funders; proactively review the calendar for conflicts or other issues.</li>
<li>Communicate with the Development team and other teams at ClimateWorks about relevant scheduling and other administrative issues, coordinating with the Executive Office and others as appropriate, for resolution.</li>
<li>Coordinate extensive travel and meeting logistics.</li>
<li>Assist the VP of Development with correspondence and task management; anticipate upcoming tasks and deadlines and ensure deadlines are met; and assist in prioritizing demands on the VP of Development’s time.</li>
<li>Ensure that the VP of Development is fully briefed and prepared for meetings, events, and trips.</li>
<li>Assist in the research and preparation of briefings and materials for meetings and presentations; schedule pre-event briefing, planning, and preparation meetings with others as necessary.</li>

<li>Support the process for contracting with consultants and other vendors that are needed for the Development team’s work.</li>

About the Role:
This is Executive Coordinator to the CEO of Andela, perfectly suited to a resourceful, hardworking, intellectually curious individual who wants to work with and learn from some of the sharpest leaders in the start-up world. If you want to witness and take part in how a start-up operates, strategizes, and iterates you will see all of this first hand and in our fast paced environment. While there are many administrative tasks you’ll be responsible for you will simultaneously and daily be exposed to the evolution of the business at its very genesis. This exposure will be critical to understanding the goals, needs, personal preferences of the players which is in turn essential for you to deliver the role well. The Executive Coordinator serves as the CEO’s primary coordinator and liaison for internal and external relations. Your responsibilities will revolve around assisting the Chief in handling priorities and meeting deliverables to the organization. Your main objectives are to expand the CEO’s bandwidth and support the senior leadership team. You will report to Andela’s Chief of Staff and collaborate with the CEO several times/week to agree on priorities, responses, preferences, and what is upcoming.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
<ul>
<li>Organize calendar and activities to ensure high value time utilization of the CEO in relationship to external and internal requirements. Briefs/updates/reminders on upcoming meetings and ongoing obligations.</li>
<li>Handle CEO’s email correspondence and prioritize emails/events, ensuring timely responses.</li>
<li>Work daily with Andela’s CEO and Chief of Staff; Provide support in establishing relationships critical to the success of the business, and handle a variety of special projects, some of which may have wide organizational impact.</li>
<li>Partner with the Client Organization to draft, send, monitor client outreaches for the CEO.</li>
<li>Support scheduling needs of select C level executives at Andela.</li>
<li>Responsible for the CEO’s expense reporting.</li>
<li>Continually think of new ways to optimize and build processes for efficiency.</li>
<li>Research various topics and build succinct overviews as the need presents itself.</li>
<li>Handle/oversee the CEO’s travel plans including airfare bookings, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, co-working spaces when traveling, etc.</li>
<li>Create, drive, and own the yearly operating calendar of the organization which maps Board meetings, Executive Leadership meetings, and other Leadership and staff meetings for the year. Collaborate with the Director of Andela Experience and the Chief of Staff, in determining strategic locations for these meetings.</li>
<li>Handle confidential company, personal, sensitive personnel or other organization matters with the utmost discretion and professionalism.</li>
