Animator
Boss Fight is looking for a talented Animator to join our team of artists. In this role you will work closely with the rest of the animation team to create 2d animations in Spine for our characters, environments, and other various game objects/FX using traditional animation principles.
<h3>Essential Functions/Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Produce high quality 2D animations for game objects, character and environments and VFX</li>
<li>Animate using knowledge of the traditional animation principles</li>
<li>Assist with the visual development process by creating aspirational animations</li>
<li>Maintain current and working knowledge of trends and best practices for 2D animations in mobile games</li>
<li>Exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions</li>
</ul>

<li>3 years of experience in a similar role</li>
<li>Expertise in Photoshop and Spine and After Effects</li>
<li>Experience working with outsource houses</li>
<li>Familiarity with Unity, C# and Maya scripting including Mel scripts, Python, PyMel and/or the Maya API</li>
</ul>
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Our core hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm CST, which means you should be available for meetings etc. during this time. You may be required to work longer hours on occasion, especially during periods when staff is working late to meet tight deadlines, etc.

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $50,000.00 – 250,000.00

What you’ll do:
<ul>
<li>Produce high quality character and environment animation.</li>
<li>Establish a long-term plan for ongoing animation creation at scale.</li>
<li>Oversee external partners in the creation of animation assets to quality and technical specifications.</li>
<li>Work closely with the Tech Art team to improve rigs, animation workflow, and increase efficiency.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product managers to create animations for quick prototyping of game ideas.</li>
<li>Oversee dynamic outfit and accessory customization.</li>
<li>Later on, work with the engine and tools team to develop tools for adding and organizing UGC (user generated) animations.</li>
</ul>
You will be a match if:
<ul>
<li>You have a demo reel showing proven understanding of all animation principles.</li>
<li>You can confidently animate in different styles.</li>
<li>You demonstrate experience in leading, or directly contributing to, delivery of 3D animations for shipped titles from the planning phases through live operations.</li>
<li>You have working knowledge of Maya.</li>
<li>You have experience troubleshooting and fixing basic rigging and skinning issues.</li>
<li>You have a genuine interest in creating quality content for kids 12 and under</li>
<li>You are able to work effectively with cross-functional team members in a remote environment.</li>
<li>You can provide clear, diplomatic, and candid artistic critique, both verbally and in writing.</li>
</ul>
Bonus:

<li>A willingness and ability to create some visual effects (if needed).</li>
