About the job
The Technical Operations team at Twilio builds and maintains the core internal services platform that powers Twilio and helps us to reach millions of people every day. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with maintaining and supporting a growing cloud-based corporate infrastructure along with SaaS products for the company.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
<ul>
<li>Deploy and manage domain controllers and RODC across different regions in AWS and on premise.</li>
<li>Automate building systems and deploying applications.</li>
<li>Create additional automation by scripting repetitive tasks</li>
<li>Manage and support Okta SSO Platform and other SaaS platforms</li>
<li>Manage and support Active Directory (Directory Services, DFS, DNS, GPOs)</li>
<li>Follow configuration recommendations from the security team and implement them as needed</li>
<li>Participate in strategic project planning and execution</li>
<li>Monitor productions systems, respond to and troubleshoot incidents</li>
<li>Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation to support Level 2 escalations</li>

Required:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or comparable hands-on experience</li>
<li>Advanced-level knowledge of Okta IAM support, management, and governance.</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in managing DNS, DFS, SMTP, clustering</li>
<li>Fundamental knowledge of network topology, connectivity, and troubleshooting techniques.</li>
<li>Experience scripting in Powershell, Python, Perl or other languages</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in Hyper-V or other virtualization technologies.</li>
<li>Experienced systems engineer who has 4+ years of system administration experience with Windows Server operating systems.</li>
<li>Advanced-level knowledge of cloud IaaS platforms and management of SaaS platforms.</li>
<li>Advanced-level knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy creation and management of AD provided services.</li>
<li>Excellent team player – proven ability to resolve problems professionally and systematically in a team environment.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, flexibility in concepts and action, able to handle aggressive mission critical deadlines.</li>
<li>Ability to collaborate with resources across multiple disciplines</li>
<li>Ability to design and document complex workflows</li>
<li>Provide administration and support for major platforms under the responsibility of Infrastructure Engineering:</li>
<li>Primary platforms – Okta, Windows Server, Slack, AWS, Google Workspace</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Provide administration and support for major platforms under the responsibility of Infrastructure Engineering:</li>
<li>Secondary platforms that would be of benefit to the organization – Microsoft Azure\O365, GCP, Azure AD, SQL Administration,</li>
<li>Experience in server and desktop virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Hyper-V preferred.</li>
<li>Experience with end point management solutions for security patching, inventory management, and 3rd party application deployment.</li>
</ul>
Location
This role will be remote based in the USA and will be considered in any of the North America time zones. Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

<li>Based in Colorado: $109,280 – $136,600.</li>
<li>Based in New York or Washington State: $115,760 – $144,700.</li>
<li>Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $128,560- $160,700.</li>
<li>This role is eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.</li>
</ul>
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.

This position is needed to design and build data pipelines and services in cloud environments that fuels strategic business decisions across Twilio. You will partner with other engineers and product managers to translate data needs into critical information that can be used to implement scalable data platforms and self-service tools. We are looking for someone who is passionate about solving problems using engineering and data, thrives in an evolving environment, brings an enthusiastic and collaborative attitude, and delights in making a difference. As a successful candidate, you must have a deep background in data engineering and a proven track record of solving data problems at scale leveraging distributed data systems. <h3>Responsibilities</h3>
In this role, you’ll:

<li>Design, Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and Data warehouse to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.</li>
<li>Develop set processes for analytics, data modeling, and data production.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Data Architects and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering educated decision-making across the organization.</li>
<li>Implement processes and systems to manage data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key partners and business processes that depend on it.</li>
<li>Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to engineering wiki, and documents work.</li>
<li>Perform data analysis required to solve data-related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.</li>
<li>Work closely with a team of frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.</li>
<li>Design data integrations and data quality framework.</li>
<li>Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and Business teams.</li>
<li>Execute the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.</li>
<li>Manage the system performance by performing regular tests, solving problems and integrating new features.</li>
<li>Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.</li>
<li>Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.</li>

<li>Experience working with distributed analytics platforms – Hive, Presto etc.</li>
<li>Experience working with data processing technologies like Kafka, Spark</li>
<li>Expertise in SQL</li>
<li>Expert coding skills across a number of languages including Scala, Java, Python etc.</li>
<li>Experience in processing various file formats such as Parquet, Avro, JSON etc</li>
<li>Experience in AWS EC2, S3, Redshift, Snowflake, etc</li>
</ul>
Desired:
<ul>
<li>Experience with DAG-based open-source workflow management solutions airflow etc.</li>
</ul>
