About the role: OfferUp is seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager to lead our Communications Team. The OfferUp Communications team is responsible for two critical infrastructure pieces at OfferUp: Chat and Notifications. These are critical systems that allow OfferUp to communicate with our users, as well as for Buyers and Sellers to connect. In this role, you will lead a high-functioning team of backend/frontend engineers. You will foster an engineering culture focused on learning and rapid validation of ideas through experimentation. As an engineering leader, you will support the career growth and development of our engineers.  In many companies, you only manage engineers. In our team, it’s different. You lead the team and the technical systems, from managing engineers to designing and overseeing features.
